Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the SMR division. You will work on a planned schedule, performing routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs with the goal of keeping members moving. A fully equipped RAC van and full tool set are provided from day one.

The role offers a 40-hour week, with core hours and some Saturdays, and opportunities for overtime and bonuses to boost earnings. GBP salary reflects base plus OTE potential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing
• Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• Complete in-depth repairs you’d normally do in a workshop
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

Skills

Full UK driving licence
