Job summary

You will join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR division, delivering planned, pre-booked servicing and repairs to members at their homes or workplaces. You’ll operate from a fully equipped RAC van, using advanced diagnostics and a structured schedule to ensure quality work.

Expect a fully supported mobile role with defined hours, a 40-hour week and occasional Saturdays, plus opportunities for overtime, overtime bonuses, and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Perform diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Conduct in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks to RAC standards.
