Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division to deliver planned, high‑quality maintenance directly at members' locations. You’ll work from a fully equipped RAC van, performing servicing, diagnostics and repairs with support and parts ordering built in.

The role offers a 40-hour week with core hours and occasional Saturdays, backed by a strong benefits package and structured workflow designed for independent, preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Complete in‑depth repairs you’d normally do in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
