Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR Division to carry out planned servicing, diagnostics and repairs at members’ premises or driveways. You will work from a fully equipped RAC van with a digital schedule and pre-booked jobs, avoiding emergency callouts.

Expect a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm and one in four Saturdays. Profitability comes from guaranteed overtime and bonus opportunities, with progression and long‑term benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Two or more years' hands-on vehicle maintenance experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Perform diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Execute in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member guidance and recommendations after inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
