Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division and seeks a Mobile Vehicle Technician to carry out planned servicing, diagnostics and in‑depth repairs on members’ vehicles at their driveways or workplaces.

You’ll work a 40‑hour week with a structured schedule, including some weekend work. A full UK driving licence and relevant experience are required, with the RAC providing a fully equipped van and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
