Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll perform planned servicing, diagnostics with advanced mobile gear, and in-depth repairs at members’ driveways or workplaces. Each job is pre-booked with a clear schedule and required safety checks.

You’ll enjoy a 40-hour week (Mon–Sat 8am–8pm), with overtime options and a clear career path as part of a national team delivering reliable, high‑quality service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years of experience
• Or 5+ years of experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
