Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs on pre-booked jobs, delivering high-quality service away from callouts. Expect a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform and advanced diagnostics from day one.

This role offers a clear schedule, 40-hour weeks, and progression opportunities within a national organisation that values independence, problem solving and customer-focused service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
• Pre-booked, scheduled work with a clear digital timetable

Education
