Job summary

RAC is expanding its Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division with a mobile technician role that delivers planned repairs and servicing directly to members’ driveways or workplace car parks.

You’ll work a 40-hour week (8:30–17:00 core) with 1 in 4 Saturdays, equipped with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostics. The job offers a strong base salary with overtime and bonus potential and a clear, pre-booked schedule.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Carry out in‑depth repairs that you would normally do in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspections.
