Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, delivering planned, scheduled repairs and servicing at members' driveways and car parks. You’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics, in-depth repairs, and safety checks with a fully equipped RAC van and provided tools.

Expect a structured schedule, no emergency callouts, and a clear pathway to increased earnings through overtime and bonuses.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
