Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll perform pre-booked servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs using mobile equipment, delivering high-quality work on customers’ driveways or car parks.

You will follow a structured schedule, with a 40-hour week (8:30–17:00) and 1 in 4 Saturdays, and be supported by a full RAC van and tools to keep customers moving safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) or 2+ years’ experience preferred
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic is an alternative path to qualification

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

Skills

Full UK driving licence

2+ years’ experience

Education

NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)

5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
