Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the Liverpool cluster. You will work on a pre-booked schedule, performing routine servicing, diagnostics with advanced mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs at customers’ driveways or workplaces.

You’ll carry out safety checks, provide member guidance, and operate with a fully equipped RAC van. This role offers a stable 40-hour week, with overtime options and a clear progression path within the SMR division.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)

5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic

Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
