Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. You’ll work on a pre-booked schedule across the Liverpool cluster, performing servicing, diagnostics and repairs on-site at members’ locations.

Expect a base salary of £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000, including overtime and bonus opportunities. Days are 40 hours with core hours 8:30–17:00 and 1 in 4 Saturdays; you’ll receive a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, and ongoing training in a supportive, structured environment focused on

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic (preferred).
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
