Job summary

RAC Motoring Services is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to join our SMR division, delivering planned, pre-booked repairs and servicing direct at members’ locations. You’ll work a 40-hour week across a defined local schedule, with a fully equipped RAC van, tools and support to do quality work on time.

Based in the Stevenage cluster, you’ll cover nearby towns, carry out diagnostics and routine servicing, and perform in-depth repairs with RAC standards and safety checks.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• 2+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic or 5+ years' experience (as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Perform diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Conduct in-depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Perform vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
