Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role operating on pre‑booked appointments across Stevenage and surrounding areas. You’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and in‑depth repairs with fully equipped RAC vans, delivering quality work on a predictable schedule.

Expect a base salary with overtime and bonus opportunities, a 40‑hour week, and a path toward enhanced earnings through guaranteed overtime and benefits, while working away from emergency callouts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of vehicles on a scheduled basis.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
