Job summary

The RAC is recruiting for a Mobile Vehicle Technician in its SMR division. You’ll work on a pre‑booked schedule, servicing and repairing vehicles at members’ locations with a fully equipped RAC van, diagnostic tools and ongoing training.

The role offers a 40‑hour week, with some Saturdays and overtime opportunities, plus a comprehensive benefits package. You’ll operate in the Stevenage area, covering nearby towns, delivering planned, quality work with clear schedules and full support from RAC’s

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
