Job summary

The RAC SMR division is expanding its Mobile Mechanics team across the Northampton cluster, covering local towns. You’ll work on pre-booked jobs, diagnose with mobile equipment, perform in-depth repairs, and provide member advice to keep customers moving.

Full-time, 40 hours, with 8:30–17:00 core hours and 1 in 4 Saturdays. We offer a competitive base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, guaranteed overtime, and benefits like pension and holiday entitlement; progression

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or 2+ years' experience.
• Or 5+ years as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and diagnostics on vehicles.
• Complete in-depth repairs and safety checks.
• Provide member advice and recommendations.
• Follow RAC standards and planned schedule.
