Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division in the UK. You will work on a pre-booked schedule in local areas, performing routine servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs at members’ driveways and workplaces.

Expect a 40-hour week (Mon–Sat, 8am–8pm) with a base salary of £45,370 and potential to reach £57,000 with bonuses and overtime; overtime options are available after month one to boost earnings.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of vehicles.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
