Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician in its SMR division. You will perform routine servicing, diagnostics and in‑depth repairs on customers’ vehicles, using advanced mobile equipment and a fully equipped RAC van. You’ll advise members and complete safety checks to RAC standards.

Expect a 40-hour week with core hours and 1 in 4 Saturdays, plus guaranteed overtime and potential bonuses. Training and career development are supported, with access to a car salary sacrifice scheme after

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing, diagnostics using mobile equipment, and in‑depth repairs.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
