Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division in the UK. You’ll work on a pre-booked schedule, performing routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs with support and parts ordering built in.

You’ll receive a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, and tools, delivering high-quality service with safety at the forefront. Expect a 40-hour week (core hours 8:30–17:00) with 1 in 4 Saturdays, base salary £40,178, and on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus overtime and

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
