Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will work on pre-booked schedules, performing routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs on customers’ vehicles at their driveways or workplaces. You’ll provide clear member guidance and ensure safety checks meet RAC standards.

This role offers a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm and one in four Saturdays. Base salary is £40,170 with earning potential up to £52,000 through overtime and bonuses.

Qualifications

• Experience in mobile repair work preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and vehicle inspection skills.
• Customer-facing work and on-site scheduling experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and diagnostics on customer vehicles.
• Complete in-depth repairs with mobile equipment and tools.
• Provide advice and recommendations based on inspections.
• Maintain vehicle safety checks per RAC standards.
• Follow pre-booked schedule with clear communications to members.

Skills

2+ years’ mobile repair experience

5+ years Vehicle Technician

Full UK driving licence

Education

NVQ Level 2 – Light Vehicle Maintenance
