Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform planned servicing, diagnostics, and in‑depth repairs on customers’ vehicles at driveways, car parks, and workplaces.

You’ll advise members and conduct safety checks to RAC standards in a structured workflow. We offer a fully equipped RAC van, tools, and opportunities for overtime, bonuses, and career development within a nationwide organisation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
