Job summary

The RAC is expanding its Mobile Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role covering local areas. You’ll perform planned diagnostics, servicing and in-depth repairs, with full RAC van and tools provided.

This mobile position offers a structured, pre-booked schedule, no emergency callouts, and a clear development pathway within a trusted national organisation. Competitive salary, overtime, and benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
• Delivering planned, pre-booked work with clear schedules
