Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform planned servicing and diagnostics on client vehicles across the Newbury area, using mobile equipment and a RAC van.

Work is scheduled and pre-booked, not reactive repairs, with training and career development provided. You will operate on a fixed schedule with 40 hours per week, earn a base salary of £40,170 and have the opportunity to reach up to £52,000 with overtime and bonuses.

Qualifications

• Either NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
