Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the SMR division. You’ll work on a clearly planned list of appointments, performing routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs away from emergency callouts.

Based in the UK, you’ll use a fully equipped RAC van and drive to local areas with a 40-hour week, earning a base salary around £40,170–£40,178 with potential to reach £52,000 through bonuses and overtime. Flexible benefits apply.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics on-site.
• Perform in-depth repairs you would normally do in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
