Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform planned maintenance and diagnostics on members' vehicles at their driveways or workplaces, with a structured schedule and pre-booked jobs.

Expect a 40-hour week with core hours, overtime options, and opportunities to advance skill sets in mobile diagnostics and in‑depth repairs. You’ll join a responsive, national team delivering quality service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
