Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the UK. Work involves pre-booked appointments, diagnostics, routine servicing, and in-depth repairs on light vehicles, with tools and a RAC van provided.

You’ll travel locally within your cluster, following a structured schedule rather than callouts. The role offers a £40,170 base salary with on-target earnings up to £52,000, 40-hour weeks, and overtime/bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Perform diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Execute in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks to RAC standards.
