Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the UK. The role offers a base salary of £40,178 with on-target earnings up to £52,000 and guaranteed overtime options to boost pay.

Work is 40 hours per week with core hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays. You’ll diagnose, service, and repair vehicles at customers’ homes or workplaces using a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
