Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the UK. The role offers a competitive base salary of £40,170 with on‑target earnings up to £52,000 and overtime opportunities.

You’ll work a 40‑hour week with core hours 8:30 to 17:00 and a 1 in 4 Saturday rota in a structured, planned workflow. You’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and in‑depth repairs with all tools and a RAC van provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
