Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the UK. You will operate with a pre-booked schedule, performing routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs for members at their driveways or workplace car parks.

The role offers a 40-hour week with core hours 8:30am–5:00pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays, with base pay of £40,170 and on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus overtime and bonuses.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) is required.
• At least 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points is required.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of vehicles.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally perform in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
