Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll handle pre-booked jobs, servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs on customers’ vehicles, delivering high-quality service at driveways and workplaces. Workdays follow a set schedule with no emergency callouts.

Expect a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, and advanced diagnostics. Overtime options and a structured career path support ongoing development in mobile repair and EV readiness.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) required or equivalent
• 2+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance or repair
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points required

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing on customers' vehicles
• Carry out diagnostics using mobile equipment
• Conduct in‑depth repairs typically done in a workshop
• Provide member advice and recommendations from inspections
• Carry out vehicle safety checks in line with RAC standards
