Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll operate on a pre-booked schedule across local areas, carrying out servicing, diagnostics with mobile gear, and in-depth repairs directly at members’ locations.

Expect proactive support, clear schedules, and professional, customer-focused service from day one. You’ll use your technical ability to diagnose, repair and advise on vehicle safety, with a strong emphasis on planned work rather than reactive callouts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
