Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will work on a fixed schedule, delivering planned servicing and repairs at members’ homes or workplaces across your local area.

Expect routine servicing and diagnostics with advanced mobile equipment, plus in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop. You’ll advise members and conduct RAC-standard safety checks for every vehicle.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Work from a clearly planned schedule of pre-booked jobs with no reactive callouts.
