Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll work on pre-booked jobs, performing routine servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs at members’ driveways and workplaces.

Expect a fully equipped RAC van, uniform, tools, and advanced diagnostics from day one, with a 40-hour week and some Saturday work. Overtime and progression opportunities are highlighted throughout the role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience (for some candidates)
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
• UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points required

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• Perform in-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection results
• Carry out vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
• Work with a clear digital schedule and pre-booked jobs
