Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in Reading. You will perform planned servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment, delivering quality repairs at members’ driveways or car parks.

You’ll follow RAC standards with a clear schedule and full support from a mobile service platform. The role offers a fully equipped RAC van, generous salary, overtime options, and career development in EV/diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• 2+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations after inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
