Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. You’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics with advanced mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs on customers’ cars at driveways or car parks. You’ll advise members and conduct safety checks per RAC standards.

Expect a structured, plan-based role with a fully equipped RAC van, uniform, and tools, plus opportunities for overtime, bonuses, and progression within a national organisation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
