Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division in the UK. You'll operate a fully equipped RAC van, perform planned servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs at members' homes or workplaces.

40 hours weekly, core hours 8:30–17:00, with 1 in 4 Saturdays. Expect a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime and premium-rate overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years of experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs that would normally be done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspections.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
