Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. You will perform planned servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs at members’ driveways and car parks, with a fully equipped RAC van and tools provided.

Expect a base salary around £40,178 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime options. A 40-hour week and 1 in 4 Saturdays are typical, with additional overtime and bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)

5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic

Full UK driving licence
