Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. This role focuses on planned, in-driveway servicing and diagnostics with a fully equipped RAC van, tools, and support. You’ll operate on a scheduled list of jobs, delivering quality repairs away from the workshop.

You will benefit from a base salary of £40,170 with earning potential up to £52,000 through overtime and bonuses, 40 hours per week, and Tues–Sat availability with core hours 8:30am–5:00pm.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
