Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role. This position involves planned, pre‑scheduled work across a defined local area, not emergency callouts. You’ll perform servicing, diagnostics and repairs on vehicles at driveways or car parks.

You’ll receive a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card and tools, with a base salary around £40,178 and on‑target earnings up to £52,000, plus overtime and bonus opportunities. A 40‑hour week applies, including one in four Saturdays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) required.
• 2+ years’ experience in Vehicle Technician role.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you would normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Work from a pre‑booked schedule with no emergency callouts.
