Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for our SMR division in the UK. You’ll work on a pre-booked schedule, visiting members at driveways and workplaces with a fully equipped RAC van, diagnostic tools, and support.

This is a structured, non-emergency role with planned maintenance and repairs. Core hours are 8:30 to 17:00 with 1 in 4 Saturdays, and a generous base salary of £40,178 with on-target earnings up to £52,000.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and inspections on customer vehicles.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs that are typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
