Job summary

RAC offers a Mobile Vehicle Technician role within the SMR division, delivering planned, structured repairs directly to members’ driveways or workplaces. You’ll operate on a scheduled list of pre-booked jobs with a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics from day one.

Expect a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime and options to earn more through premium-rate overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and inspections.
• Carry out diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Execute in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member/customer advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks in line with RAC standards.
