Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician in its SMR division. You will perform routine servicing, diagnostics and in-depth repairs on-site at members' locations, guided by a structured schedule.

Expect to deliver high-quality service with clear, proactive recommendations and RAC-standard safety checks. With a base salary around £40,178 and OTE up to £52,000, this 40-hour role includes overtime options and occasional Saturdays, providing stability and growth in a national organisation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of vehicles.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Perform vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
