Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician in Horsham to service, maintain and repair vehicles at customers' homes or workplaces. The role covers EVs and petrol vehicles, with prebooked appointments and a 40-hour week from Monday to Friday, plus occasional Saturday work.

Overtime paid at time and a half, plus a range of benefits including pension and life cover, and opportunities for progression and training within a leading national breakdown company.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or (ideally) Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles (workshop or mobile).
• Ability to work independently and make decisions on the go.
• Customer-focused approach to service delivery.
• Must have a full UK driving licence with max 6 points (no bans).

Responsabilités

• Servicing and repairing vehicles at customer-chosen locations (driveways, car parks, etc.).
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems across engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues and communicate recommendations to customers.
• Handle payments via card transactions and keep accurate service records.

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via prebooked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Location: Horsham

Pay / salary: £45,370 (inclusive of LWA) OTE: In Excess of £57,000

Job type: Permanent / Full time role

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Technician role Home based, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am 5pm with 1 Saturday per month. When working the Saturday, you will receive a day off in that week. Any overtime past 5pm or an additional Saturday, is paid at time and a half (£30ph)

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Technician role

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) customer selected location e.g. driveway, office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.

What youll need to be considered for the Mobile Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, orequivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
