Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician in Esher to service, maintain and repair vehicles at customer locations, including EVs. The role operates 40 hours per week across Monday to Saturday, with occasional overtime and in-field work.

You must have a Level 2 (Level 3 preferred) in light vehicle maintenance and repair and a valid UK driving licence. Salary is £55,625 inclusive of LWA with OTE above £62,000.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (Level 3 preferred).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence (max 6 points, no bans)

Responsibilities

• Service and repair vehicles at customer locations (driveway, car park, or office).
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tires, brakes.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, electrical, and suspension issues.
• Use diagnostic tools/software and record work performed and parts used.

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing,maintenanceand repair, via pre-booked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Pay / salary:£55,625 (inclusive of LWA) OTE: In Excess of £62,000

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Technician role

Home based, working 40 hours per week, across 5 days (Monday to Saturday) 8am 8PM, working 1 in 4 Saturdays.

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000additionalper year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000additionalper year, completely optional more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Technician role

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) customer selected location e.g. driveway, office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify andresolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate recordsof all work performed and parts used.

Whatyoullneed to be considered for the Mobile Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, orequivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
