Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, provide quick solutions and help members continue their journeys safely with the latest diagnostic tools.

You’ll work independently, make decisions, and develop your skills through the RAC’s structured technical pathway, with opportunities for IMI accreditation and career progression.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience in vehicle maintenance or 5+ years as a technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and provide quick, confident solutions to members.
• Work independently to help members continue their journeys safely.

Education

NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance

5+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic

Full UK driving licence (fewer than 6 points)
