Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, repair on the roadside, and ensure members get back on the road quickly and safely.

You’ll work with the latest diagnostic technology, receive ongoing training and have access to the IMI accreditation pathway. This role offers structured development and autonomy with a focus on customer service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform roadside mechanical repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults independently using the latest diagnostic tools.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members on the move.
• Develop diagnostic and technical skills through ongoing training and accreditation pathways.
