Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, perform repairs, and help members continue their journeys safely with confidence and speed.

You’ll work independently, using the latest diagnostic tools, with a focus on customer service and rapid problem solving. A structured development pathway supports long‑term career growth.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years’ experience in a maintenance role.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical roadside repairs.
• Provide vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support.
• Work independently to keep RAC members moving safely.
