Mobile Mechanical Engineer

Location : Derby / East Midlands (Mobile Role)

Leading FM & Engineering Provider

A leading UK facilities and engineering services provider is seeking a Mobile Mechanical Engineer to join their growing technical services team, supporting a portfolio of critical and industrial sites across the East Midlands region.

This is a field-based role delivering planned and reactive maintenance on a range of mechanical and building systems, offering long-term stability, strong support, and progression within a well-established organisation.

The Role

You will be responsible for maintaining mechanical plant and associated building services, ensuring assets are operating safely, efficiently and in line with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities
  • Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical and building systems
  • Fault finding, repairs and minor modifications to equipment and installations
  • Reviewing work orders and estimating time and materials required
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, building regulations and site procedures
  • Supporting energy efficiency and system optimisation
  • Coordinating with subcontractors and third-party providers when required
  • Producing service reports and maintaining maintenance records
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients on site
About You

To be successful, you will have :

  • NVQ Level 2 or above in a mechanical trade
  • Proven post-qualification experience in building services, facilities management or industrial environments
  • Gas certification (essential)
  • Strong fault-finding and maintenance background
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Working knowledge of basic IT systems
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable
  • NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical trade
  • CITB Health, Safety & Environmental certification
  • Experience working across multiple sites in a mobile role
