Job Title: Electrical Bias Engineer

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting an Electrical Bias Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will install and maintain plant and equipment, ensuring swift rectification of faults and defects.

Role Summary:

  • Respond to breakdown maintenance requests within SLA requirements.
  • Have technical awareness of computer room, call centre, and trader operations, including power, UPS, CPS, distribution, and cooling systems.
  • Perform repairs on modular UPS systems.
  • Test and diagnose power quality issues, including harmonic distortion, using onsite power analyzers.
  • Apply a risk-focused maintenance approach and operate plant and systems in data centers/critical environments.
  • Provide emergency response standby and call-out services.
  • Escalate urgent issues to the Technical Services Manager.
  • Respond to work interruptions, outages, or emergencies as per SLA.
  • Maintain up-to-date critical engineering maintenance documentation and records.
  • Advise the Facilities Management Team on changes in critical environment requirements.
  • Work beyond contractual hours as needed.
  • Conduct site surveys, produce Work Requests, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments for planned works.
  • Undertake upgrades and installations.
  • Interpret technical drawings, instructions, processes, and O&M manuals.
  • Complete all reactive Helpdesk requests.
  • Monitor environmental conditions and review the loading of critical equipment regularly.
  • Ensure adherence to financial processes.
  • Draft incident reports within 24 hours of abnormal incidents affecting system availability, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Review and ensure completion of all actions with the Technical Services Manager.
  • Enter quotes and remedial works into the in-house system.

Experience Required:

Essential:

  • 17th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations

Desirable:

  • Experience with building management systems, fault finding, and operator use
  • Experience with VAV, FCU, chilled water circuits, and chilled beams
  • Understanding of HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of CDM processes
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Organizational skills for managing tasks and materials
  • Experience with H&S procedures, COSHH, working at heights, risk assessments
  • Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH
  • Electrical testing and inspection
  • Knowledge of emergency response protocols
  • Monitoring utilities and environmental programs
  • Authorized Person status (e.g., AP15/12)
  • Water hygiene L8 certification
