A local primary school is seeking a dedicated Midday Supervisory Assistant to ensure a safe and enjoyable lunchtime experience for pupils. The role involves supervising children during meals, encouraging positive play, and supporting their welfare. Basic training in health, hygiene, and safeguarding will be provided. This is a part-time position during term time only.

Overview

We are looking to appoint a happy, reliable Midday Supervisory Assistant to work in a team within our friendly primary school for 7.5 hours per week during term time only (38 weeks per annum).

Monday – Friday 11:45 – 1:15. The post involves ensuring an enjoyable, safe and sociable lunchtime for all pupils.

Responsibilities
  • Setting up lunchtime and clearing up afterwards
  • Supervising children eating and depending on the schedule, occasionally serve hot meals
  • Supervising children on the playground and encourage positive play in line with the School Behaviour Policy
  • Reporting incidents to the appropriate person and escalating as required
  • Support and encourage the safeguarding and welfare of the children in our school
  • Be a positive contributor to our school team, using initiative, being hardworking and organised

  • Be able to communicate effectively with children of all abilities, recognising the importance of inclusion
